As I slouch to the mirror
Did my mouth brow whisper to me clearer
‘changes have gotten hold of me
I’m no more a child under lee.
Yet, there remains in me the tot,
Wanting to spend time in prattles
And caring for nothing
But a gladsome world of mine own
Who could tread back to the past
To be soothed by the childhood mirth?
Though while being there I wished
For a five o’ clock shadow.
No, did I not know,
Growth would besiege me with hazards
Of mine and the world
I would wish then, not to grow.
